Inspire your students with our engaging "Meet the Author" classroom visits for grades K-5. Our program includes book readings for two separate classrooms or library sessions. Following a read aloud from one of his books, Tom will then engage students in a lively Q&A and discussion tied to the book's theme. Depending on the book, which can be co-decided with your school, themes can be related to family diversity, foster care, adoption, resilience, feelings & emotions, the writing process, and more. As time allows, Tom can also facilitate a fun, interactive activity that reinforces the topic.
To top it off, our "Meet the Author" program also includes a signed book copy donation to your school library at no additional cost! This is truly a budget-friendly program with great value for your school and your students.
As an active NJ Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Tom has tremendous experience in working with youth and group facilitation. From clinically-oriented mental health groups to parent workshops and from formal training programs to unplanned, in-the-moment activities, Tom has been facilitating group activities for kids and adults alike for more than twenty years. Tom enthusiastically brings the culmination of these experiences and his talent to your school or organization!
