Inspire your students with our engaging "Meet the Author" classroom visits for grades K-5. Following a read aloud from one of his books, Tom will engage your students in a lively Q&A and discussion tied to a book related theme/topic tailored to meet your preference (e.g. family diversity, foster care, adoption, resilience, feelings & emotions, the writing process). As time allows, Tom will also facilitate a fun, interactive activity that reinforces the topic.
To top it off, our "Meet the Author" program also includes signed book copies (up to 20) for each student AND a donation to your school library at no additional cost! This is truly a budget-friendly program with great value for your school and your students.
Tom's experience facilitating activities for kids started early. Tom's first job post high school was as a pre-school teacher's assistant. Since then and throughout his career, Tom has routinely found himself in a position of facilitating group activities, especially for youth. From clinically-oriented mental health groups to parent workshops and from formal training programs to unplanned, in-the-moment activities, Tom has been facilitating group activities for kids and adults alike for nearly three decades. Tom enthusiastically brings the culmination of these experiences and his talent to your school or organization!
