Jazmyne's Big Emotions - Hardcover (Oak View Sale)
A 2025 Eric Hoffer Book Award Grand Prize Finalist and one of my best selling books.
This book features a main character living with a foster family. At times, Jazmyne, just like anyone else, can experience big emotions that can be difficult for her to manage. The story helps normalize these feelings for all children and makes the exploration of positive coping skills approachable and fun. By the end of the book, children will have already practiced at least one coping skill with Jazmyne, giving them a sense of immediate success. The story creates an opportunity for meaningful conversations between children and their caring adults about a topic that is often difficult to address. The book the perfect companion to the Managing Emotions workbook.

Managing Emotions Workbook (Oak View Special)
Best Selling Book in my Entire Collection
This workbook is 80 pages of fun engaging activities that help kids identify emotions and develop positive coping skills. Covering a range of different emotions, thought provoking exercises are based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy principles to help kids not only identify emotions, but also understand their body and brain signals so they can learn to better manage those emotions. Mixed throughout are fun, feelings-related activities that are designed to help kids experience immediate success, thus giving them a sense of gratification and pride. The workbook can be used independently or can be worked on together with a trusted adult.
The back of the workbook includes suggested activities that adults can consider doing to help reinforce feelings identification and exploration - each activity had been personally used by me in some modified form or another in a group setting with kids.
I suggest purchasing the workbook and Jazmyne's Big Emotions together as a bundled packed for maximum impact and to bolster your at-home/in-office feelings and emotions toolkit.
Additional Book Details:
-- 80 pages of activities and emotions exploration
-- Suggested activities for adults to do with kids
-- Targeted emotions to explore PLUS "create your own" emotions for kids to explore emotions that are not listed in the book
-- Age appropriateness - there's something for everyone here; I've had kids as young as five do some work in the workbook and kids as old as 16 tell me how much they've loved having this. I'd suggest the sweet spot is ages 7 - 12.
